BTC Training Day

This in-person BTC Training Day is open to eligible BTC Registered Instructors, Assistants, Welfare Officers and Students. The £65 ticket price includes access to 2 seminars and a buffet lunch with tea/coffee.

09:30  Meet and greet, introduction.  Applicants will be able to access two of the seminars during the day.  Mental Health Awareness in Taekwondo (MHAT) is the main course for the day.  Applicants will be allocated the morning or afternoon MHAT course according to their choice of either of the other seminars, First Aid (morning) or Equity (afternoon).

14:00  MHAT for designated afternoon group

Mental Health Awareness in Taekwondo (Designated)

This engaging and practical course is designed to build awareness and understanding of mental health within the Taekwondo (TKD) community.  Participants will learn to define mental health and wellbeing, spot early signs that someone may be struggling, and understand how stigma and discrimination can limit participation.  The course explores the positive impact of TKD on mental wellbeing, identifies common barriers to engagement, and equips individuals with the knowledge to signpost others to appropriate support.  Ideal for instructors, students and anyone passionate about fostering an inclusive and supportive training environment.

Applicants must be 18yrs+.  Certificate of Attendance provided.

 

First Aid (Optional, AM)

BTC-approved first aid course which covers the basic first aid requirements and includes additional modules on treating Taekwondo injuries and dealing with head injuries and concussion.

Applicants must be 13yrs+.  Certificate valid for 3 years.

 

Equity in Your Coaching (Optional, PM)

Are you passionate about creating fair and inclusive opportunities in sport?  This course will give you the knowledge and tools to embed equity into your coaching practice.

What you will gain:

  • A clear understanding of what sports equity means and the legal framework behind it.
  • Insight into the barriers that deny access to disadvantaged groups.
  • Confidence in using appropriate, inclusive language and terminology.
  • Strategies to identify and challenge inequitable behaviour in your coaching environment.
  • Practical steps to become a more equitable instructor.
  • Guidance on where to access further support and information.

Perfect for instructors who want to champion fairness, diversity and inclusion in sport.

Applicants must be 16yrs+.  Certificate of Attendance provided.
