BTC Accreditation courses hosted by UK ITF on 12th and 26th June 2022
1st July 2022

The importance of NGB instructor/coach accreditation and education in safeguarding is a current topic in sport.

BTC Registered Instructor, Basic Safeguarding Awareness and TTL courses were recently hosted by UK ITF for UK ITF and UKTDC instructors gaining or renewing their BTC accreditation.  Those who could not attend the course in person attended BTC Online Registered Instructor and Basic Safeguarding Awareness courses via Zoom.

The Whyte Review recently published and associated news reports highlight the importance of national governing bodies creating a positive culture and promoting the highest standards in safeguarding within their sport and activities.  BTC are rigorous in their efforts to ensure all Registered Instructors regularly update their accreditation, comprising the BTC Registered Instructor course, Enhanced DBS disclosure, Basic Safeguarding Awareness, First Aid qualification and Professional Indemnity Insurance.  The BTC/NSPCC Time To Listen course is offered to all instructors and Club Welfare Officers who seek to achieve NSPCC Advanced Standards in Safeguarding.
