BTC Safeguarding Children in Martial Arts
27th February 2015

As part of the NSPCC/CPSU Safeguarding Children in Martial Arts (SCIMA) project, the British Taekwondo Council (BTC) was involved in creating a DVD to show children training in the Martial Art of Taekwondo.

The film crew from the NSPCC/CPSU attended Cassie Oury’s Warwick Taekwondo Club on Wednesday 25th February 2015 to film Cassie’s training session and as well as filming the children training they also interviewed BTC Officers, parents, children and Cassie as part of the project.

The Chairman of the BTC, Grand Master David Oliver and the Chief Executive Officer Grand Master Trevor Nicholls, who were both in attendance, commented on how well the project went and praised the efforts of the BTC Safeguarding Officers and the NSPCC/CPSU for their roles in the Safeguarding Children in Martial Arts Working group and they hope that the DVD will promote safeguarding in Martial Arts to other Martial Arts groups.

The BTC would like to thank Cassie for letting us use her training session for this promotional DVD.
